Younger Ranch Wedding Venue is a family-run wedding venue hosted by Rex and Gina Younger. In this policy, “Younger Ranch,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean Younger Ranch Inc., 5060 Walker Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80908.
This policy explains what information we collect when you visit youngerranch.com or guide.youngerranch.com (together, “our website”), request our free Price Guide, or contact us. It also explains how we use that information and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, just call us or send us a message.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
– Wedding inquiries. Our wedding inquiry form on youngerranch.com/inquire/ is run by HoneyBook. When you fill it out, we receive what you enter, such as your name, email, phone number, wedding date, guest count and message. If you book with us, we also keep your contract, scheduling and payment records in HoneyBook.
– General contact form. Our contact form on youngerranch.com/contact/ is built with WPForms. It collects your name, email address and message, and the form sends it to our family by email.
– Price Guide and email signups. Our Price Guide forms (on our homepage and at guide.youngerranch.com) are run by Kit (formerly ConvertKit). They ask for your first name and email address.
– Emails, calls and texts you send us, and notes we take during tours and planning conversations.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, your browser automatically shares some technical details with us and the tools we use, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the website that sent you to us, your approximate location (based on your IP address), and the date and time of your visit. Some of this is collected through cookies and pixels (see section 3).
We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health details, religion or Social Security numbers, through our website. Please don’t send it to us.
2. How we use your information
- To answer your questions, schedule tours, send proposals and contracts, and plan and host your wedding or event.
- To email you the Price Guide you asked for, plus follow-up emails about the ranch (see section 5).
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
- To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited our website (see section 4).
- To keep our website secure, block spam and misuse, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
3. Cookies, pixels and the services we use
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Pixels (also called tags) are small pieces of code that tell a service when a page loads or something happens on a page.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google). Through the MonsterInsights plugin, Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us. It uses cookies and receives details such as your IP address, device and browser information, and the pages you visit.
- Meta Pixel (Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram). A Meta Pixel runs on youngerranch.com, and a separate Meta Pixel runs on our Price Guide page at guide.youngerranch.com through Kit. Meta receives information such as the pages you view, your IP address, browser details and cookie identifiers, and whether you requested the Price Guide. This lets us see whether our ads are working. Meta may also receive this kind of visit information directly from our website’s server through the Meta for WordPress plugin.
- Kit. Kit runs our email list and Price Guide forms and may use cookies, for example to remember that you’ve already signed up.
- HoneyBook. Our wedding inquiry form on /inquire/ loads from HoneyBook, which may use its own cookies and similar tools to run the form.
- WPForms and Akismet. Our /contact/ form uses WPForms. To filter spam, the information you submit (along with technical details such as your IP address and browser) is sent to Akismet, a spam-checking service run by Automattic.
- Hosting and security (Kinsta and Cloudflare). Our website is hosted by Kinsta and protected by Cloudflare. Like most websites, they keep server logs (including IP addresses and request details) and may use security cookies to deliver the site and protect it from attacks and spam.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and use the opt-out choices in section 4. Some parts of our website may not work as well if you block all cookies.
4. Advertising and how to opt out
We sometimes advertise on Facebook and Instagram. Meta uses information from our pixels to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our website (sometimes called “retargeting”). Some state laws call this “targeted advertising.” We do not sell personal information for money.
You can limit or opt out:
– Meta (Facebook and Instagram): In the Facebook or Instagram app, go to Settings, then Accounts Center, then Ad preferences. On the web, visit https://www.facebook.com/adpreferences. There you can review “Activity information from ad partners” and control how Meta uses it for ads.
– Google Analytics: To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits on any website, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
– Email: Click “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of our emails (see section 5).
– Your browser: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, including third-party cookies.
– Or just ask us. Contact us using the details in section 13 and we’ll help.
Our website does not currently respond automatically to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signals. Opting out of ads doesn’t mean you’ll see no ads. It means the ads you see may be less related to your visits here.
5. Email marketing
When you request our Price Guide, we use Kit to email it to you. We may also send a few follow-up emails about the ranch, such as planning tips, open dates and tour invitations. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us. After you unsubscribe, we’ll stop marketing emails, but we may still contact you about an inquiry or booking you have with us.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information for money. We share it only:
– With the service providers that help run our business and website: HoneyBook (inquiries, contracts and payments), Kit (email), WPForms and Akismet/Automattic (contact form and spam filtering), Google (website analytics), Meta (ad measurement and advertising, as described above), and Kinsta and Cloudflare (hosting and security). These companies handle information under their own privacy policies and terms.
– With your permission, for example when you ask us to share details with your coordinator, caterer or other wedding vendors.
– When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our guests, family, ranch or property, or our legal rights.
– If the business changes hands, with whoever takes over the venue.
Online payments through HoneyBook are processed by HoneyBook and its payment partners. We don’t see or store your full card number.
7. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes above:
– Inquiries and messages: as long as needed to respond and follow up, and then only as long as reasonably useful.
– Booked weddings and events: as long as needed for your event, and afterward as needed for tax, accounting and legal reasons.
– Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your unsubscribe so we don’t email you again.
– Website analytics and third-party services: Google, Meta, Kit, HoneyBook, Automattic, Kinsta and Cloudflare keep data under their own retention settings and policies.
8. How we protect your information
We use established service providers, protect our accounts, and limit access to the people who need it. Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we’ll notify you of a security problem affecting your information as the law requires.
9. Children
Our website is meant for adults planning weddings and events. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Your privacy choices and requests
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
– tell you what personal information we have about you,
– correct anything that’s wrong,
– delete your information, and
– stop using your information for marketing or targeted advertising.
Colorado residents. We’re a Colorado business. The Colorado Privacy Act gives Colorado residents rights to access, correct, delete and get a copy of their personal data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and certain profiling. That law applies only to businesses above certain size thresholds, but we’ll honor these requests from Colorado residents either way. If we turn down a request, we’ll explain why, and you can ask us to reconsider.
How to make a request. Call us at (303) 648-3311 or use the form at youngerranch.com/contact/. We may need to confirm your identity first. We’ll respond within 45 days. We may keep some records we need for a contract, taxes or other legal reasons, and we’ll tell you if so. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
11. Testimonials and photos
With your permission, we may share reviews, first names and photos from weddings at the ranch on our website and social media. If you’d like one removed, just ask.
12. Other websites and changes
Our website links to other sites, such as wedding directories, social media and vendors. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them. We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top.
